Welcome to Ty Beic.
‘Ty’ is Welsh for house and ‘Beic’ is Welsh for bike and is the name of my holiday cottages near Bala, North Wales.
The name was chosen because I am obsessed by cycling in all of its forms. I chose this area because it offers some of the finest mountain biking and road cycling in the UK.
Two stone barns have been restored to provide self catering holiday accommodation in North Wales. Situated in the hamlet of Sarnau, 4 miles from Bala in Snowdonia National Park, the accommodation is the perfect base to explore North Wales. Ty Beic is approximately a 40 minute drive from the mountain bike centres of Coed y Brenin, OnePlanetAdventure (Llandegla), Antur Stiniog (Blaenau Ffestiniog) and the ClimachX, Gwydir (Marin) and Penmachno MTB trails.
The area is also superb for road cycling, with quiet country roads, beautiful scenery and epic climbs (and descents) on the doorstep. And if that’s not enough there are walks from the door across moors and hills to secret lakes and rivers.
